finally got some photos up lol 8D
Drawing II assignment 1 of 8: Creation myth.

(Created my own of course xD)

"In the beginning there existed an orb filled with "grey" and energy. Outside of the orb existed a void. At once the energy within wished to fill that void... and so the orb cracked and emptied its contents of grey and energy, which filled the void completely, ever-expanding. The grey dispersed, and the lighter parts rose as white, the light; likewise, the darker parts sunk as darkness,the abyss. And in between, the grey that remained formed the basis of the earth, that which exists in between.

"The energy of the universe reacted with the grey, giving life to the once-barren land. The Forest was born, and with him all the living creatures of the world. But as life exists so must death; Death, born from the blood of the dying forest, who continues to regenerate. And so, the cycle of life and death continues with no end."


This is a DETAIL of the entire thing. The tapestry is 8 feet tall, hangs like a wall scroll. Quilted with backing, acrylic paint; hand-sewn and machine stitched.
(My first tapestry since this little sampler! x)

omfg it was so hard to get a decent pic of this thing >_< it's so huge, it was difficult to capture a decent photo all in one shot.


FALLOW is the forest god from the comic Apotheosis.

of tides by =atmosblue. The suggester wrote, "I saw =atmosblue's deviation of tides and thought to myself, 'Wow, another fantastic drawing by Blue.' Then, I scrolled down to the artist's comments (which has a stunning short story to go along with the drawing) and I saw that this was a tapestry... that is 8 feet long. of tides is a handmade quilted tapestry with fantastic work and a story behind it. This is beautifully done; I didn’t realize that acrylics could show up that well/smoothly on quilting. The color transition in the background is very good and the image of Fallow looks great as usual. =D Also, knowing what an arduous task quilting can be, congratulations on being done with it. xD;

This is amazing. I love the amount of detail you put into your stuff. ^^ I love the wolves/coyotes draped on Fallow and the little white crow the most.
